Laneway - The Complete Documentary

Laneway from spicynoodle888 on Vimeo.
This is the complete version for those interested in viewing the entire 18 minutes in one sitting (I know that's long for most internet attention spans - including mine). But if you have the time get comfy and enjoy!

That was awesome... what an amazing accomplishment.

This home was built with the objection of many in the neighbourhood due to the fact that this couple didn't care about the other homeowners around them. Their reluctance to work with their neighbours is why their home was not embraced. If indeed you want to see what a laneway home should be please have a look at the home of Governor General Award Winning architect Bridget Shim. This is what could have been on this site.

I highly doubt that their "reluctance to work with their neighbours" was the issue. We faced a similar situation when building our house, and many neighbours were simply afraid of change. Also, your argument that their home was not embraced because of their "reluctance" is completely debased by your final claim that Ms. Shim's architecture would have been much better. Clearly you disagree with their aesthetics as well - not just their treatment of neighbours. So much for that.
Beautiful house. Congratulations.
